Hi @Garcia Anaya, Victor Manuel
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Q&A Support.
Yes, Microsoft Teams does allow you to block participants from posting messages in a channel by enabling a feature called Channel Moderation. This is especially useful when you want to maintain a focused communication space, such as an announcement-only channel or a classroom discussion led by instructors.
When moderation is turned on for a standard channel:
- Only moderators (by default, team owners) can start new posts.
- You can choose whether members can reply to posts or not.
- You can assign additional moderators to manage conversations.
Channel moderation is only available for standard channels, not for private or shared channels.
You can enable moderation either from the Teams desktop app (if you're a team owner):
- Open Microsoft Teams and go to the Teams tab.
- Locate the team and click ••• (More options) next to the team name > Manage team.
- Go to the Channels tab.
- Find the channel you want to configure > click ••• next to it > Manage channel.
- Under Channel moderation, switch it On.
- Assign moderators and configure reply permissions as needed.
If you don’t see the “Manage team” or “Manage channel” options, it’s possible that:
- You are not a team owner (only owners can configure moderation).
- The channel is private or shared, which does not support moderation.
Please feel free to reply with your scenario I’d be happy to guide you further based on your setup.
Thank you again for your patience and for choosing Microsoft Q&A forum.
