I recently recorded the transcript in a recent Teams call. When looking at the Teams chat of the meeting the transcript is showing. However, when trying to access the transcript it's not showing. Can anyone help?

    Hi @Kyle Pate,

Thanks for reaching out to the Q&A Forum.
Regarding your concern about your Microsoft Teams where the transcript appears in the meeting chat but becomes inaccessible when trying to open it, I'd offer a few possible causes and requirements for this function to work based on Microsoft guidance.

If you're using features like Intelligent Recap, your account must have:

    • Teams Premium
    • Microsoft 365 Copilot
    • Microsoft 365 E5

Please check your license assignments in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. If any of these are missing or conflicting, the transcript may not load properly Meeting Type Restrictions.

Transcripts and recaps may not work properly if:

    • The meeting was a Channel meeting
    • It was a Meet Now session
    • It was under 5 minutes
    • It was shared externally

You need to ensure future meetings are scheduled and meet these criteria. Then try accessing the transcript via the web version of Teams, or clear your Teams cache:

    • Sign out and back in
    • Clear cache from %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams

Sometimes, transcripts or AI-generated notes (like Intelligent Recap) may appear briefly and then disappear due to backend syncing issues. Try accessing the transcript from the Teams Calendar instead of the meeting chat. This workaround has helped some users. In the meantime, for the second workaround, you can upload the meeting recording video to MS Stream https://web.microsoftstream.com Then generate transcription via MS Stream: Click the three dots next to "Like", then click Options. You can see 5 options:

    • Linked groups/channels
    • Add to group/channel
    • Update video details
    • Delete
    • Download original video

From the given five options, select Update video details, it will show you 3 panes i.e. Details, Permissions and Options. From the Options pane, you can download the captions file, as shown below. User's image

Should the issue persist, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
