Hi

Why has this still not been resolved?

The new outlook is not a forward step with all this missing functionality - terrible for business users

In the new Outlook for Windows, the feature to quickly jump to an email sender by typing the first letter of their name while sorting by sender is not currently available. This functionality was present in the classic Outlook but has not yet been implemented in the new version

regards

Chris

    Hi @Chris Lundie

Thank you for your feedback and for raising this concern.

in the New Outlook for Windows, the ability to quickly jump to a sender or recipient by typing the first letter of their name while sorting by name is currently not available. This feature was present in the classic Outlook experience and has been widely used by business users for efficient navigation.

We understand how critical this functionality is, especially when managing large volumes of email. Microsoft is aware of this limitation, and while there’s no confirmed timeline for its return, it has been raised as a usability gap by many users in the community

In the meantime, here are a few workarounds:

    • Use the search bar to locate emails from specific senders.
    • Use filters or focused inbox to narrow down results.

    • @Chris Lundie It looks like in the latest version of New Outlook, they have added a "Jump to" button with different options based on what you are sorting by. For 'From', you should now see this :
