Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    Please clarify the following:

    • What exactly happens when you try to install the printer?
    • Where did you download the driver you are trying to install?

What is the manufacturer and model of your computer?

If you prefer, you can share a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    I await your reply.

    Thanks for the clarifications.

Canon's official support page indicates that drivers for the LBP2900 printer are only available up to Windows 7. Unfortunately, there are no officially supported drivers for Windows 11. It's important to note that the responsibility for providing compatible drivers lies with the manufacturer, not with the operating system.

    Check the USB Connection:

    • Make sure the USB cable is firmly connected to both the printer and your PC.
    • Try a different USB port.
    • Avoid using USB hubs. Connect directly to the PC.

If the issue persists, try this:

Disconnect the printer from your computer, then start the installation and connect the printer when prompted.

If the issue persists, I suggest following the recommendations in the official Canon article at the link below.

    https://oip.manual.canon/FAQ01-0111-zz-DR-enUV/contents/cmcont-wp-no_inst_drv_win11.html?type=*

If the problem persists, please let me know.

Feel free to ask back any questions.

    Thanks for the clarification.

Do you have a third-party antivirus installed?

    If yes, which one?

Is it possible to see if the same behavior occurs when connecting the printer to another PC?

    I await your reply.

    Thanks for the clarifications.

Open the Device Manager (Press "Windows + X" and select "Device Manager") and see if there are any devices labeled "Unknown Device" or with warning signs. Click the arrow to the left of each category icon to expand it and see the devices it contains.

Share a screenshot of what you find.

Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    I await your reply.
