Turn off email notifications on iPhone app

There’s no way in the iPhone app to turn off email notifications every single time ANYTHING happens on Teams. Annoying as hell and there’s no email option to turn it off in Settings with iPhone app (if there ever was, it’s gone now).

How do I get teams to stop auto-emailing me any time anything happens in teams?

    Hi @Cullen James

Good day! Welcome to Q&A forum.
Microsoft Teams sends “Missed Activity Emails” to your Outlook inbox when you are inactive or offline. These messages summarize unread chats, mentions, and other activity. While helpful in some contexts, they may become excessive if you prefer to rely solely on in-app notifications.

At present, the Microsoft Teams mobile application for iOS does not offer a setting to disable these email notifications. This functionality is only available via the desktop or web version of Teams.

I recommend you try to disable these notifications, please follow the steps below using a desktop computer or web browser:

    1. Open Microsoft Teams on your desktop or visit https://teams.microsoft.com.
    2. Click your profile picture and select Settings => Notifications and Activity
    3. Scroll to the General section. Locate Missed activity emails and set the preference to Off.
      Untitled

Note: Once this change is made, it will apply across all devices associated with your account, including your iPhone.

If you do not have access to a desktop device, you may use Safari on your iPhone to visit https://teams.microsoft.com, request the “Desktop Site” from the browser options, and follow the same steps outlined above. As steps below:

    1. Open Page Menu from Address bar, then choose the three dots
    2. Turn on the toggle at Request Desktop Website.
      Untitled

Alternatively, your IT support team may assist with this change if permitted by your organization’s policy.

To ensure we address your concern as precisely as possible, may I kindly ask you to confirm the following:

    • Are you receiving notifications for specific types of activity (e.g., chat messages, mentions, meetings)?
    • Do you wish to disable all email notifications or only those related to missed activity?
    • Are you using any other devices besides your iPhone to access Teams?

Note: Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.        Your detailed response will help us diagnose and investigate the issue more efficiently. If I misunderstood what you’re looking for, feel free to let me know or share a screenshot. I’d be happy to help further!

Thank you for your cooperation. I'm looking forward for your reply.
