My old MacBook is non-functional, so I cannot use it to transfer the license from my one-time Microsoft purchase to my new MacBook. I am attempting to see if there is a way to do this from my new computer since the old one does not have the ability to deactivate office. I am using the same account on my new MacBook as my old one.

    Hi @Jonah Webster ,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Since your old MacBook is no longer functional and cannot be used to deactivate Office, you can still transfer your one-time Microsoft Office license to your new MacBook using the same Microsoft account.

    Here’s what I recommend:

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account on your new MacBook.
    2. Go to the Services & Subscriptions section to locate your Office license.
    3. If the license is eligible for transfer, you should see an option to install Office on your new device.
    4. If you encounter any issues or the license doesn’t appear, I suggest contacting Microsoft Support directly. Use the Billing & Subscriptions category to initiate a live chat or request a call.

Note: Please avoid sharing any sensitive personal or financial information via email. Provide details only through Microsoft’s secure support channels.

I hope this helps you get the thing sorted out quickly!

    Best regards,

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. If this is a one time license of Office and it was still activated on the old device, you will need to reach out to the support team from the below to get it unlinked and then after that you also check the links below for the guided steps to reinstall Office that you have.
