Windows weather widget does not work (Windows 11)
My windows taskbar widget that shows the weather, news and other things does not work. I tried killing and restarting the process, reinstalling the web experience pack, repairing edge, dism and sfc scan, my system is up to date, but still nothing. It just shows this little thing, and, when i click it it just flips around.

2025-08-06T07:33:36.7266667+00:00 Hello danyel rinaldi,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum!
It sounds like the Windows 11 taskbar weather widget, part of the Widgets panel, is not functioning. I understand this must be frustrating, and I'm here to help you resolve this.
Here is a step-by-step solution to troubleshoot Windows 11 Weather Widget error, please kindly follow:
1. Fully Reset the Widgets System
- Open PowerShell as Administrator
- Run the following to uninstall the Web Experience Pack
winget uninstall "Windows Web Experience Pack"
- Reboot your PC
- Reinstall it from the Microsoft Store: Windows Web Experience Pack
2. Reinstall Microsoft Edge WebView2:
- The Widgets panel relies on Edge WebView2 to render content.
- Visit the Microsoft Developer website > download and install the “Evergreen Bootstrapper” for Edge WebView2: Microsoft Edge WebView2
- Restart your PC and test the widget.
3. Clear Widget Cache
- Open File Explorer and go to:
%LocalAppData%\Packages\MicrosoftWindows.Client.WebExperience_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState
- Delete the folder named Feeds
- Restart your PC
4. Check Location Permissions
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location
- Ensure Location Services is enabled
- Scroll down and allow location access for Widgets
