Something very strange has started happening in the last few weeks with our new Surface laptop

Microsoft Surface Laptop Copilot+ PC for Business - 7th Edition - AI Ready - 13.8" - Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite - X1E-80-100 - 32 GB RAM - 1 TB SSD

It is in an office connected to a usb -c docking station with hdmi moniotrs and a network cable. All working fine.

But when it is unplugged the wireless has dissappeared. what i mean is that in device manager there are no wireless cards or bluetooth cards. Obviously its not connecting to any of the wireless networks, and the networking advanced shows that the wireless and bluetooth adapters are remembered, but are listed as unavailable.

A reboot of the system fixes it.

    Hi Bents,

I appreciate you reaching out to the Microsoft community and sharing the details about your Surface Pro problems. I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with this. Let's get this sorted out together.

The first step is to check the health of your Surface drivers and firmware using the Surface app.

Grab the Toolkit from the Microsoft Store, then hit Start, search for Surface Diagnostic Toolkit, and open it. Just follow the on-screen prompts. Most tests should take around 15 minutes or so, but some might take a bit longer depending on your internet speed and the complexity of the issues.

This will help diagnose any hardware and software problems, run tests on wireless, Bluetooth, battery, and more. It will also check for updates and any missing drivers, plus it will give you steps on how to fix things.

You can also check for any available Windows updates by going to the Surface app, expanding Help & support, and looking at the update status.

Let's see how it goes. If you need further assistance, just drop a comment.

    Warm Regards,

    Edward Schlobohm

    Hey Chaps,

I have around 50 Surfaces all experiencing the exact same issues, soon as we remove the docking station the Wireless Adaptor disappears. The only way to get the Wireless adaptor back online is to restart the Surface.

All updates are completed, including Windows updates and Surface drivers and firmware. These laptops belong to all sorts of clients, both in standard work group mode or domain joined.

This is starting to sound like a known issue?

    Can anyone provide any direction?
