    Dear Andrew Foster,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re unable to connect to the internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet after a recent Windows 11 update.

You could try following some methods below to solve your issue:

    1. Reset Network Settings:
      • Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
      • Go to Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
      • Click Reset now, confirm, and let your PC restart.
      • Reconnect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet afterward.
    2. Reset Network Stack using Command Prompt:
      • Go to Start, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt > Run as administrator
      • Run these commands one by one:
             netsh winsock reset
             netsh int ip reset
             ipconfig /release
             ipconfig /renew
             ipconfig /flushdns

      • Restart your computer

If nothing works, you can also try to fix the issue by performing an In-place Upgrade. Please read this Reinstall Windows with the installation media - Microsoft SupportUser's image Disclaimer: Let's try performing an in-place install or in-place upgrade which will refresh your Windows files and operating system without removing files or applications. That being said, we always recommend that if you have important data, you should back up it up before making large system changes. If you want to back up your data first, please do so. Once you are done backing up, you can follow the steps in the following guides: How to run In-place upgrade in Windows 11 - Microsoft Q&A

Hi, I am an Independent Advisor, and welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

I understand you are having problems connecting to WIFI and Ethernet after an update on your machine.

If a reboot has been done, please follow the steps below.

Please hover your mouse over the Network icon at the lower right-hand corner, then right-click it and click Troubleshoot Network. Let the troubleshooter finish until it's done, then this should either fix the problem or give us an error message.

If that doesn't work, we need to remove the Ethernet driver from the Device Manager and restart the computer to reinstall it.

Here are the steps to completely remove a Device from your computer.

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Windows key+X

    Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry for Network Adapters, Right-click the problematic device, which is either Intel Ethernet or Realtek Ethernet adapter, and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device and then click the Uninstall button.

    Step 5. Reboot the computer.

After the reboot, please see if the problem is fixed.

Do the same steps above to uninstall the WIFI driver.
