Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community, Regarding on you issue/concern "pen compability for surface laptop 7". Software Updates Won’t Fix It,Since the issue is rooted in missing hardware components, no software or firmware update can enable Surface Pen functionality on this device

and Microsoft has not announced any plans to add stylus support to the Surface Laptop 7 via updates, you can consider reaching out to the retailer or Microsoft support if you feel the product was misrepresented.
