Here are the steps you can follow to remove the dormant account and ensure proper activation:
1: Sign out of all Microsoft accounts
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Click your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Select Sign out.
- Repeat this for other Microsoft apps like Outlook, Word, Excel if you're signed in.
2: Remove the old organization account from your Mac
- Go to System Settings > Internet Accounts.
- Look for any Microsoft accounts linked to your previous organization (e.g., Ministry of Communication).
- Select the account and click Remove Account.
3: Clear Microsoft Teams cache
- Quit Microsoft Teams completely.
- Open Finder, press Cmd + Shift + G, and enter: ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams
- Delete all contents inside this folder.
- Reopen Teams and sign in with your current account
