Turn of Slideshow and go back to ON THIS DAY

In photos on Onedrive NOW you get a slideshow with cheesy music for the DATE. This is NOT HELPFUL I see a few people really don't want this.

How do we go back to ON THIS DAY for THAT DAY last year, the year before etc.

This development in One drive is not useful for many people and we shold be able to have a choice.

Please someone help us!!

I understand how frustrating it can be when a feature you previously enjoyed, like the simple “On This Day” photo view, is replaced with a slideshow and music that doesn’t suit your preferences. You're not alone in this, and unfortunately, there is currently not a direct option to turn it off. However, I can suggest a few workarounds for you to regain a more traditional viewing experience.

On phone, after opening the Slideshow, swipe up for all photos:
Or Click the Menu icon (three dots or lines depend on your browser)
- View all photos
- View this moment

While there’s currently no setting to permanently disable the slideshow format, you can manually switch to the classic photo grid using the above workarounds. We have seen many users have expressed similar feedback, and hopefully Microsoft will offer more display options in the future. You can join the force yourself, by opening OneDrive > click Provide Feedback: User's image

I do not see the options you are taling about on my laptop. The three dots if I go to the gallery doesn't hae those options. I literally cannot go through my photors with this so called "upgrade".

Hi, can you give a screenshot of how your app look like? (remember to hide anything private). Plus it'd be helpful to know the model of your laptop/PC. I also see that it seems like you are opening OneDrive in Edge, so can you try opening it in another browser?

And sorry if my reply wasn't what you are looking for. I know changes are not always the better, but I believe Microsoft would try to listen to users like us, as long as we voice our opinion together. I hope they will soon give us more options for personalization.

Opened it in chrome. No difference. I have an ASUS Zenbook flip 15 but that shoudn't have anything to do with it, because other people have the same issue.

Also, I figure I will STOP the slideshow to down load any pictures I want. But that is not an option becaue it is a WEB page and it wold download the slideshow. I feel like microsoft has hijacked my pictures and they are no longer mine.

What do you mean a screenshot of the app? Which part of the app? This is the left side bar. Let me know what specific part of the app you want me to screen shot. When I click on photoes I get

Then I get this when I click photos. When I click August 11 I get the slideshow

When asking about screenshots, I meant the look of the whole screen after you click on the slideshow, I'm sorry for not being clearer. Like this is how it look on my end (hiding images) - I'm opening on Edge and Brave browsers:

As you can see, I don't even have the slideshow after clicking on the August 12 Over the years, which is honestly a weird thing itself too. I tried with 4 of my accounts and I got slideshow on none of them, unless I open OneDrive on the phone. I also tried to open it on my Macbook and voila! There's not even On this day memories, even though I look to the side and the same account show the pictures.

I know this is probably asking too much, but can you try open the OneDrive application on your phone, and see if the menu on the top-right of the slideshow has the option to show all photos? If not, or there's no memories on it, that could be a bug from Microsoft OneDrive that makes it perform different across devices.

In that case, I suggest you try signing out and resign-in, then report the issue directly to Microsoft inside your OneDrive account.

I'm sorry if this is not the answer you hoped for, and I know many of the "upgrades" from Microsoft are not acting like it should be at all. But Microsoft is working hard to listen and make changes according to users' request, even if sometimes it takes time. We can only hope that more people talking about it will make a difference.

In the meantime, I totally understand if you want to take a rest from OneDrive, branch out and experience other photo saving applications. Thank you for keeping up!

So. I clicked on slideshow and there was a "view memory" function. And that took me to "lasat week" I am not sure if I missed that or is that new? Anyay, it seems to be the "fix ". I thank you because I wouldn't have done that without your prompt to do so!!!
