What is the best way to get a program that worked on W10 to work on a W11 PC?

I have installed all my programs that worked on W10 to a new W11 PC. I have one program, an Event Planner that will load to W11, but the Data file won't work with W11, The manufacturer changed the program and informs me that the data file won't work in W11 and they don't support it anymore. You’d think they would have provided a converter program to take care of the data file problem. The program, (calendar), comes up, but the previous data doesn't show. This is a 2002 program with 23 years of birthdays, anniversaries, events, etc., so I need to save it. I have a valid Windows XP license from an old PC. (I was provided with the CD's for the preinstalled programs when I purchased the PC.) I could always pick up an old XP or W8 laptop and load the OS and program onto it This would be sort of an inconvenience to have to run two computers.

Can I put a partition on the new computer and put the XP OPS on it and run it from there? I have been told by an electronic store that this could possibly create technical issues with the W11 OS. Could I put the program on a USB device and run it from there? I don't know how access to the program would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    If your hardware will support xp, you can safely create a second boot partition. If you have windows 11 pro, you could create a vm to run the old o/s.

    you should check if older versions of your program had converters. Maybe via a series of installs and updates you can convert the data.

    and finally there are JavaScript emulators of windows xp. These host xp in a browser. Maybe your program would run.

    Most electronics businesses I have talked to don't advise the partition with a separate OS. I decided to pick up a used laptop and have Windows XP installed on it. My anti-virus is not compatible with XP, but if I don't go on-line, it shouldn't be a problem. I may still put an anti-virus program on it if I can find a fairly inexpensive one.
