I'm trying to install windows 10 on a new hard drive via USB, but when it asks me to select a driver it says that there is none to select. also the other parts of the computer are pretty old, the motherboard is from 2012 and the computer was prebuilt with windows 7 or 8

Try setting the bios to known good defaults then Save and Exit.
Restart and select the USB boot media again.
How did you create the boot USB flash drive?

Are you using an Intel system?
If so, you probably need the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver (Intel RST). If you are using an Intel system, could you tell me the processor inside the PC?
