If you're seeing the “Couldn’t find bootable operating system” error on your Windows 10 Surface Laptop, it usually means your device can't locate the system files it needs to start up. This can happen due to a misconfigured BIOS setting, a corrupted boot sector, or even a failed update. To fix it, start by entering the UEFI settings by holding the Volume Up button while pressing the Power button. Once inside, make sure the Windows Boot Manager is enabled and set as the primary boot option, and that Secure Boot is turned on. Make sure the boot order prioritizes the internal SSD. If that looks good, try using a Windows 10 recovery USB to run Startup Repair. You can create this USB using Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool on another PC.
