Update gone wrong

Updates are the worst as companies tend to fix what isn't broken.

I want my tray all the way to the left. How can I change it?

I want my calendar to come up on the bottom right when I click on it. How can I get a quick access to my calendar again?

I don't want a bunch of nonsense coming up when I go to the bottom left where the windows icon used to be...where I would go to get to tools and settings and system info. How can I eliminate these widgets and news stories?

And, why does it sound like someone is in my headset when I am not on a call? Who is listening?

I'm sure there is more but, this is what I've observed in less than an hour.

    Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out.

    1. Move the Taskbar to the Left

    • Right-click on an empty space on your taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
    • Expand the Taskbar behaviors section.
    • Find Taskbar alignment and change the setting from "Center" to "Left".

    2. Quick Access to the Calendar

The calendar is still in the bottom-right corner, but it is now combined with your notifications.

    • Click the date and time in the far bottom-right corner of your screen.
    • This will open the Notification Center, and you will see the calendar at the very top. You can click the arrows to navigate through the months.

    3. Remove Widgets and News from the Taskbar

    • Right-click on an empty space on your taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
    • At the top, under Taskbar items, find Widgets and toggle the switch to Off.

    4. Hearing Noise in Your Headset

It is unlikely that someone is listening to you. This is an issue, often caused by a setting that plays your own microphone's input back to you. Here’s how to check and fix it:

    • Right-click the speaker icon in your system tray and select Sound settings.
    • Scroll down and click More sound settings.
    • Go to the Recording tab.
    • Double-click on your active microphone.
    • Go to the Listen tab and make sure the box for "Listen to this device" is unchecked. Click Apply, then OK.

I hope this helps you get your PC set up the way you like it. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
