Issue with Microsoft 365 Developer Program Sandbox Renewal

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with the Microsoft 365 Developer Program and would appreciate your help.

I previously had an active sandbox subscription, which has recently expired. After rejoining the Developer Program, I received a confirmation email stating that a new sandbox environment has been provisioned for me.

However, when I access the Developer Program dashboard, I only see the old, expired subscription. There is no option to create a new sandbox, and the “Admin” panel is missing entirely.

I’ve tried signing out and back in, clearing my browser cache, and using different browsers, but the issue persists.

Could you please assist me in resolving this? I need access to the new sandbox environment for personal development purposes (learning Power BI).

Thank you in advance!

Best regards, Szabina

    Hi @Szabina Nyírő

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Based on your description, I understand that after your previous Microsoft 365 Developer sandbox expired, you successfully rejoined the program and received a confirmation email for a new sandbox. However, your Developer Program dashboard is still showing the old, expired subscription, and you are unable to see the "Admin" panel or access the new environment.

Before we look for a solution, could you clarify if you rejoined the program using your previous Microsoft account or by creating a brand new one? According to Microsoft's documentation, when a developer subscription expires, the old sandbox environment isn't deleted immediately. There is a grace period for data migration. User's image If you used your previous account to sign up again, it's possible that the old, expired sandbox has not been fully de-provisioned from the system yet. This can cause a conflict that prevents the new sandbox from being correctly linked to your dashboard.

You can read more about this in the official Microsoft FAQ here: Microsoft 365 Developer Program FAQ However

As a forum moderator, I do not have the specialized tools or access rights to check your account status or resolve backend provisioning issues related to the Developer Program. This is something that must be handled by the program's dedicated team. If you believe you satisfy the criteria and are still experiencing difficulties, we recommend contacting Microsoft Developer Support for further assistance. Their support team is best positioned to provide direct help and resolve such issues effectively.

Please note that this is a paid support ticket, which means it requires an active support plan or a one-time support purchase. However, the benefit of using this channel is that your inquiry will be routed directly to the Microsoft Product Group responsible for the specific service or feature in question. This team includes engineers and developers who work on the product itself, so they are best positioned to provide accurate, in-depth, and authoritative answers especially for complex or edge-case scenarios that go beyond publicly available documentation or community knowledge.
