Dark Mode missing from Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 Excel and Word apps

For some reason the option to change theme is missing on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 for the Excel and Word apps. The setting exists on my previous phone, the Samsung Galaxy S24+ on the exact same version of the app. See attached photos. I've tried turning on force dark mode in development mode and it still doesn't work. First image is Z-Fold. As you can see, "Theme" is missing. I've tried reinstalling the app, resetting my office 365 settings, clearing data and cache, removing and re-adding my Microsoft account from my phone, and even wiping my phone.28096

    On the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, the “Theme” option (which allows enabling Dark Mode) is missing in Microsoft Word and Excel apps. The same app versions on a Galaxy S24+ do show the option.

    Troubleshooting steps like reinstalling apps, resetting Office 365 settings, clearing data/cache, removing and re-adding Microsoft account, enabling Developer “Force Dark Mode,” and even performing a full phone wipe, none worked.

    This appears to be a device/form factor limitation in Microsoft’s Office Android apps. On foldables and tablets, the UI behaves differently and omits the “Theme” setting entirely, even on the same version as standard smartphones.

    Multiple reports on Microsoft Tech Community, Microsoft Q&A, and Reddit confirm the absence of the Theme option on Samsung foldables/tablets, dating back to at least early 2022. Microsoft hasn’t yet fixed this in updates.

    Workarounds –

    Send feedback to Microsoft via Office app’s “Send Feedback” option, specifying the Z Fold7 issue.

    Wait for app updates that may improve foldable UI support.

    Use alternatives like Google Docs/Sheets (which support dark mode) or Android accessibility features (color inversion, grayscale) for eye comfort.
