Help With Microsoft Ads Suspension Issue
On 5th April 2024 I created a Microsoft ads account for my business.
I received this email at 11.59am ‘Thank you for submitting your information to create a Microsoft Merchant store for homerehabequipment.com. We are manually reviewing your information, which can take up to 5 business days. We will email you once our review is complete’
I decided to import my campaigns from Google Ads and the import was completed at 12.56pm when I received the email ‘Your scheduled import "Auto Import - F1******** - 2024-04-05" is done!’
Then at 1.30pm I received the email ‘After careful review of your Microsoft Merchant Center store, we regret to inform you that we have not been able to approve your store due to the following reason:
For more information or to request a review of your store after you have fixed the issue identified, please contact support.’
No reason was provided to me.
Less than one minute later at 1.31pm I received the email ‘During a routine check our automated systems detected content in your Manager Account H1**************** is in violation of the Microsoft Advertising Egregious Policy.’
Unfortunately I didn’t appeal at all as honestly Microsoft Ads wasn’t a key part of my strategy and it didn’t seem worth the hassle at the time.
Since then I’ve sold the business. I no longer own it.
Now recently, I bought a new unrelated business. The previous owner does have a Microsoft ads account linked to the website but it wasn’t included in the sale.
I started a Microsoft ads account for it but then during advertiser verification I realised I should have used my legal entity name as I’m registered as a sole trader instead of the business name.
I then talked to Microsoft ads support team on live chat and advised the issue. They told me to create a new account with the correct legal entity name. I did that.
Those accounts both got suspended within a few hours saying they were in violation of the Microsoft Advertising Egregious Policy.
I thought the issue might’ve been my bank account or credit card so I tried different payment methods on two other accounts.
Realizing something is now very wrong and it’s neither of these issues, I did further research into forums and support networks. I realized you aren’t meant to create multiple accounts per legal entity even if they are for different uses and businesses and I should’ve tried to reactivate the first account even though it was for a business I no longer own or operate.
I’m at a loss now on what to do, the business I bought used to heavily rely on Microsoft ads and I’m trying to work out if there is anything I can do.
