Sorry but I am beginning to feel like an idiot... I normally maneuver through this stuff with ease....

I get to One drive Photos and the ONLY options I have under the only Three line icon is Show photos from All OneDrive OR Pictures..... so I am stuck on step 2.

Hi @Nora Doerder & James van den Heever,

I sincerely apologize for my late reply. Since OneDrive currently doesn't offer an option to stop the "On This Day" slideshow directly, the only available workaround is to disable the notifications for these memory prompts.

I recommend raising this concern with Microsoft Support to suggest adding more control over the slideshow feature, such as the ability to pause, customize, or disable it entirely. This could improve the user experience for those who prefer not to see these memory slideshows.

    Hi Nora,

You can disable the OneDrive photo slideshow feature by adjusting your settings in both the desktop app and the web version. On Windows 11 or the OneDrive desktop app, click the OneDrive icon in the taskbar, then click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select Settings. Navigate to the Notifications tab and toggle off the option that says "Notify me when 'On this day' memories are available."

If you're using OneDrive on the web, go to onedrive.live.com, click the gear icon in the top-right corner, and select Settings. Choose Options, then go to Notifications, and uncheck the box for "On this day memories are available." Be sure to click Save to apply the changes.

If you're currently stuck in the slideshow view and want to return to the traditional photo list, click the menu icon and select "View all photos" to go back to the standard chronological view. Let me know if you need help navigating these settings on your device. Hope this helps.

    Best,
    Jeric.

None of the instructions make sense - I'm trying to exit the horrible memories video and just get the photos displayed as usual. For e.g., in the app, there is NO menu icon, and nothing in Settings to give me "View all photos". Please update the advice!

I appealed to Microsoft Support and was referred HERE...

However, I recently discovered that when the horrible slide show opens there is a choice in the upper right-hand corner to View Memories and clicking that reverts to the old view of looking at the photos themselves in chronological order.

Just remember that you have to re-enable notifications if you unchecked “On this day memories are available.” (see below) to reinstate the daily email.

"To Disable “On This Day” Notifications (Web Version):

    1. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner.
    2. Select Settings, then click Options.
    3. In the left sidebar, go to Notifications.
    4. Uncheck “On this day memories are available.”
    5. Click Save to apply the changes."
