Hi! The auto-rotation feature depends on the accelerometer and chipset drivers. Since HP has removed some older drivers from their support page, Windows Update might not install them automatically.
- Open Device Manager > Right-click on each device with a yellow exclamation > Properties > Details tab > choose Hardware Ids from the dropdown.
- Copy the first string (e.g., PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_22DC…).
- Use that ID to search for the correct driver (Intel/HP/Windows Update Catalog).
- Install Intel Chipset, Intel Sensor Hub, Intel Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework (DPTF), and HP 3D DriveGuard / Motion Sensor drivers, those usually control rotation.
