Hi, I’ve been having a persistent issue for a few weeks now where my PC keeps playing the USB connect/disconnect sound repeatedly. The frequency has increased recently, even though I’m not plugging or unplugging any USB devices.

I used the USBLogView tool to monitor the events, and here’s what I found (see screenshot attached):

The same HID (Human Interface Device) keeps being disconnected and reconnected every few seconds.

Things I’ve already tried:

  1. Unplugged all USB devices (mouse, keyboard, sound adapter, monitor) one by one
  2. Disconnected front panel USB cable from motherboard
  3. Updated BIOS
  4. Reinstalled USB-related drivers using AMD Cleanup Utility
  5. Opened and cleaned the entire PC hardware

Unfortunately, the problem still persists.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

    1

If you temporarily disconnected all USB devices, did the disconnect sound still occur?

    2

You indicate you have updated your BIOS, did you also re-install the chipset drivers form the support page for your PC/motherboard on the manufacturers website?

    3

Also, do you have a webcam connected to your PC and if so, what type of connection is on that.

That may indicate a hardware problem, you indicate you have disconnected the front USB panel and that also did not stop the noise, is that correct, if so the problem may be with the USB ports on the motherboard, it may be best to have the board tested.
