    Hello @Rosie Russell

Thank you for reaching out to us and for providing a detailed description of the issue

To help me investigate further and provide the most accurate solution, could you please clarify a couple of things for me?

    1. Does this issue happen in one specific Microsoft app (like Word), or do you experience it across all Microsoft apps on your iPhone (e.g., Teams, Excel, OneDrive)?
    2. If possible, could you please provide a screenshot of the exact error message when you try to sign in?

In the meantime, here is a workaround you can try to manually clear the old account data:

    • Open the Word app (or any other Office app).
    • Tap your profile icon or the gear icon in the top-left corner.
    • Go to Settings and select Accounts.
    • If you see your friend's account listed, tap on it and choose Delete account at the bottom of the page.
    • Close the app completely and reopen it to try signing in with your account.

If you can still see this email address when you reopen Outlook to log in to your new account, please select Skip directly.

Sometimes, saved passwords can cause the device to auto-fill old login information. Here's how to check and remove them:

    • Open the Passwords app on your iPhone or Find it on your Home Screen by searching “Passwords” with Spotlight.
    • Look for any saved entries related to: microsoft.com ; office.com ; outlook.com
    • If you see your friend's account listed, swipe left to delete or tap to edit/remove the saved login.

Removing these saved credentials can help ensure your device doesn't auto-fill the wrong account during sign-in.

If you've already tried signing out of your old account and the issue persists, it's possible that the account information is cached on your iPhone. In that case, you can try clearing the cache by going to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. This should remove any cached data, including your old account information.

Please try these steps and let me know how it goes. Your answers to the questions at the beginning will also be very helpful if the problem persists.
