Hello,

I have an Azure subscription that is currently disabled because it requires reactivation. The subscription is linked to an old billing account, but I have another billing account that has the card on it.

I would like to transfer this subscription directly tomy billing account so that I can use those credits for payment, to pay old billing account and future bills.

    Hello IT,

Yes, you cannot transfer a disabled Azure subscription to another billing account. The subscription must be in an active state to be eligible for transfer. To proceed, you will first need to reactivate your subscription. Once it is active, you can then initiate the transfer to your desired billing account.

Follow the below steps to re-activate the subscription.

    1. Sign in to the Azure portal.
    2. Go to Subscriptions and then select the canceled subscription.
    3. Select Reactivate. Screenshot that shows Confirm reactivation.

If you face any issues to re-activate the subscription, you may need to contact the subscription management support team to re-enable it.

Follow the below steps outlined in the similar Q&A post to reach out to the support team.

    Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A community forum!

It is not possible to transfer a deactivated subscription. First, you must reactivate it on the old billing account using a valid payment method. Once activated, you can transfer it to the new billing account, and future charges will be made using that account. Previous charges must still be paid on the original billing account.

If reactivation is not possible (e.g., billing account closed, card expired, etc.), you can try opening a support ticket in the Billing and Subscription Management section of the Azure portal. Sometimes Microsoft can work in the backend and move the subscription if it is blocked by problems with the billing account.

    Cheers

    Luca
