• Click the End Sandbox button in the module. Wait a minute, then activate Sandbox again
• Re-run the steps fresh, this clears any residual issues or quota exhaustionThe issue may occur because the Azure Cloud Shell backing storage account used by the sandbox has Allow Shared Key Access turned off. When this setting is disabled, Cloud Shell cannot create or mount the required clouddrive file share, causing sandbox setup to stall at 99%.

Fix:

1. Sign in to the Azure Portal using the same account linked to your Learn sandbox.
2. In the search bar, type Resource groups and open it.
3. Look for the resource group named something like MC_LearnCloudShell_<GUID> or learn-shell-<random>.
4. Open that resource group and select the Storage account (its name usually starts with clouddrive).
5. In the storage account menu, go to Security + networking → Configuration.
6. Locate the setting Allow Shared Key Access (sometimes shown as Storage account key access).
7. If it’s set to Disabled, change it to Enabled, then click Save.
8. Wait until the confirmation message appears that the change has been applied.

Try a Different Network: Sometimes, network configurations (like firewall or proxy settings) might interfere with the sandbox provisioning. If you can, try connecting from a different network.

If none of this help, it could be a temporary backend issue in that case, wait a few hours and retry (Microsoft periodically updates the sandbox service).

@Sandhya Kommineni , In MSLearn Sandbox environment, there is no subscription or other resource groups so the "allow shared key access" will most likley not work. My sandbox worked very later last night so I am assuming this is a backend issue. Is there anyway I can open a support request to have this fixed? I see a lot of other users are having similar problems.

You’re correct in the Microsoft Learn Sandbox, users don’t get direct subscription or storage account access, so the Shared Key Access workaround won’t apply here. Since your sandbox did work later, this does point to a backend service issue on Microsoft’s side rather than something wrong on your end.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to open a formal Azure support ticket for Learn sandbox problems, as they’re managed directly by the Learn engineering team. The best step is to:

• Report the issue using the Feedback link at the bottom of the Learn module page (this goes to the content/product team).

Yes, as you said several users have been reporting the same behavior recently, so it’s likely being investigated on the backend.
