Dear microsoft,

Since the new outlook I have had several important messages which were sent prematurely due to ctrl+enter (a habit from Teams to create multiple line text inputs). In the old version there was a popup which asked whether you would want to sent this email.

Could you please return this popup. It would be of great help for me and others:

Kind regards,

    Hi @MS

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

You’re asking if the confirmation popup for Ctrl+Enter in Outlook, which existed in the classic version can be restored in the new Outlook, as you’ve accidentally sent incomplete emails due to this shortcut. After researching, here are some information may be helpful to you:

    Features in New Outlook:

    • New Outlook is indeed in active development, and Microsoft continuously adds and refines features.
    • Some features from Classic Outlook may not be immediately available in New Outlook, but they could be introduced in future updates.
    • If you encounter missing features, it’s likely because New Outlook is evolving, and Microsoft aims to enhance it over time.
    • Keep an eye on updates, as features may gradually return or be replaced with improved functionality.

In the meantime, here are practical workarounds:

    1. Turn Off All Shortcuts in New Outlook
      • Navigate to View → View Settings → General → Accessibility, then enable “Turn off keyboard shortcuts”.
      • This disables all shortcuts, not just Ctrl+Enter.
    2. Use a Send Delay Rule
      • Set a short delay (e.g., 10 seconds) for outgoing emails. This gives you time to cancel if you hit Ctrl+Enter by mistake.

Remember that software development is an ongoing process, and user feedback plays a crucial role in shaping product improvements. If you have specific feature requests or concerns, Microsoft Ideas Community at Ideas · Community so that the product team can review user preferences

I hope information above helpful, if you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.
