Could Microsoft do more to defend users against hackers?

I learned today that my computer has been hacked. I'm not a reckless user from the viewpoint of security. Still, this isn't the first time I've been hacked. Previously I used Malwarebytes. It had been running the first time I was hacked.
I'm not here to bad-mouth Malwarebytes. On the contrary, I believe Windows' implementation of security has been woefully lacking. Whatever the exposures that hackers are exploiting, surely Windows developers know more about them than the hackers. Couldn't they find a way to eliminate such exposures?
I'm appealing to the leadership of this forum to in turn, bring this matter to the attention of Microsoft developers and leaders.
I appreciate your attention to this matter,
SweetTasha

    Hello,

Social engineering attacks are incredibly prevalent, with some sources estimating that they are involved in 98% of all cyberattacks including the spread of virus, malware, even escalated to ransom of private data contained in the device you own.

The Windows Security app is a comprehensive security solution integrated into Windows, designed to protect your device and data from various threats. It includes features such as Microsoft Defender Antivirus, Windows Firewall, and Smart App Control, which work together to provide real-time protection against viruses, malware, and other security threats.

The embedded security controls allow you to scan, identify and remediate threats which could have been downloaded. In Windows Security app on your PC, select Virus & threat protection. In there you can run Full scan: Scanning every file and program on your device.

More scanning methods, you can review at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/virus-and-threat-protection-in-the-windows-security-app-1362f4cd-d71a-b52a-0b66-c2820032b65e

Additionally, you seem to point feedback to the management of the forum, however using the forum itself might cost you time. An excellent way of providing feedback is using the following channel (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/send-feedback-to-microsoft-with-the-feedback-hub-app-f59187f8-8739-22d6-ba93-f66612949332)

[Security is all about layers](https://www.malwarefox.com/layered-security/"External link") and not depending on any one solution, technology or approach to protect yourself from cyber-criminals. The most important layer is you...the first and last line of defense.

Security begins with personal responsibility which means you need to stay informed of mitigation tactics to protect yourself and/or your organization and keep vigilant of [Indicators of Compromise](https://www.osec.com/insights/indicators-of-compromise-ioc-understanding-identifying-and-utilizing-cyber-threat-indicators"External link")[ (IOC)](https://www.osec.com/insights/indicators-of-compromise-ioc-understanding-identifying-and-utilizing-cyber-threat-indicators"External link")...pieces of forensic data, clues or evidence of a compromise and data breach. Since YOU are the first and last line of defense that also means following "best practices" for safe computing.
