Hi, I'm Bernard, a fellow Windows user. I'm happy to help!
Based on your inputs and the troubleshooting steps you have done, it seems that there is a miscalibration with the touchpad driver, or there is a hardware-related issue, as it is intermittently missing. To sort out the issue, I recommend rolling back the touchpad driver, and if the issue persists, I suggest downloading and installing the BIOS and Chipset update from your manufacturer's website to ensure that there is no miscalibration.
-Press the Windows key + X
-Go to Device Manager
-Click View > Click Show hidden devices
-Expand the Mice and other pointing devices or Human Interface Devices (HID)
-Look for your touchpad driver
-Right-click and click Update Driver
-Select Browse my computer for drivers
-Click Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
-Choose an old driver or another driver name, then select it and hit next until it installs.
If the issue persists, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade, wherein it will update the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.
Kindly follow the steps from this link:
Note: If the issue persists, I suggest downloading the latest BIOS and Chipset update from your manufacturer's website. If all fails, I suggest contacting a local technician to physically check the device for any hardware-related issues.
