Voice access works I have enabled the voice settings, I have restarted my computer multiple times but it still isnt there. Not sure what I am supposed to do. Any help with this?

Hello! V. Thanks for reaching out.

This is a known confusion point in Windows 10/11 because Speech Recognition (the classic Control Panel feature) and Voice Access (the new Windows 11 accessibility tool) are separate systems.

Speech Recognition requires a supported display language installed (like US English, UK English, German, etc.).

If your system language is unsupported, the Control Panel entry won’t show up at all.

    Since you’re on Windows 11

Microsoft is really pushing Voice Access as the replacement.

Old Speech Recognition is still present but may not be enabled by default.

If you prefer the classic one, you’ll likely need to install it as an optional feature.

    Here's how:

    Press Win + I → Apps → Optional features

    Search for Windows Speech Recognition

If missing, click Add a feature, search for it, and install.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly

Press Win + R and run:

    speech

    or

    %windir%\Speech\Common\sapisvr.exe -SpeechUX

If it launches, the feature is still there, just not exposed in Control Panel.

    That explains it.

    1. The old Speech Recognition only supports a handful of languages.
    2. English (United States) is supported, but English (United Kingdom) is not.
    3. That’s why the feature is hidden/missing for you.
