Dear @Andi Dollia,
Welcome to the Q&A Community.
Thank you for sharing your concerns. To help me better understand the situation and assist you effectively, could you please share a few details such as:
- Could you please confirm whether your account is a Business/Education (This is an organizational account provided by a company or educational institution) or a Personal account?
- Are you using Windows or macOS as your operating system?
- Have you updated Microsoft Teams and your laptop’s operating system to the latest version?
- When you're on a call, are you using headphones or any other external audio device?
Once we have this information, we can proceed with targeted troubleshooting steps.
In mean time, if you're using Windows as your operating system, you may consider trying the following workarounds:
- Open Microsoft Teams and go to Settings and more (···) > Settings > Devices. Under Audio settings, ensure the correct speaker is selected from the dropdown list.
- If you're using Bluetooth or USB audio devices, try unplugging and reconnecting them. Use the Make a test call feature to check your audio quality.
You can refer to this article for additional guidance: My speaker isn't working in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Support
- Next, navigate to Settings > Devices, and scroll to Audio settings. Try turning off Noise Suppression or adjusting it to different levels, such as Low or High, both in Microsoft Teams and in your Windows system settings to test for improvements.
In Teams, go to More options (three dots) > Settings > Devices.
- If available, try enabling Voice isolation to reduce background noise and disable High fidelity music mode if it's on, as it may distort regular voice calls.
For reference, please check this link: Manage audio settings in Microsoft Teams meetings - Microsoft Support
- Also, check if your sound driver is up to date or needs reinstalling via Device Manager.
- Make sure your headset or microphone is compatible with the Teams desktop app. If possible, test with a different device or switch to the web version of Teams to compare audio quality.
If the issue persists, consider repairing or reinstalling Teams. Note that this will reset app settings and saved login info, so please back up any important data beforehand. Follow this guide: Repair an Office application - Microsoft Support
Feel free to try these steps and let us know how it goes. Please understand that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution. We appreciate your patience and look forward to working with you to resolve this.
I look forward to your response and hope to hear from you soon.
