When I sign into outlook on browser, I am able to open OneDrive, but when I try to open a document in my one drive, it will open for a few seconds but then take me back to my OneDrive.

    Hi @Andrew Fortney

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, you’re experiencing an issue where Outlook on the web lets you access OneDrive, but when you open a document, it briefly loads and then redirects back to the OneDrive home page. Could you let us know which browser are you using? That issue occurs in Outlook desktop app or not?

In the meantime, here are some steps you can try to resolve it:

    1. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies

Corrupted cache or cookies can cause session loops.

    • In Edge or Chrome, go to Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data.
    • Clear Cookies and Cached images/files, then restart the browser.

    2. Try a Different Browser or InPrivate/Incognito Mode

If it works in InPrivate mode, the issue is likely related to extensions or cached credentials. Disable extensions like ad blockers or script blockers and retry.

    3. Check Pop-up and Redirect Settings

OneDrive uses pop-ups for authentication in some cases.

    • Ensure your browser allows pop-ups and redirects for *.microsoft.com and *.office.com.

    4. Reset OneDrive/Office Cache

If the problem persists, reset the OneDrive cache:

    • On Windows, press Win + R, type wsreset.exe, and hit Enter. This clears the OneDrive cache without affecting your files.microsoft

    5. Sign Out and Back In

Sign out of all Microsoft accounts in the browser, then sign back in with your work account. Conflicting sessions can cause redirect loops.

I hope it helpful, if you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.
