PostgreSQL database down after a maintenance window

Database is down during maintenace window schedule, and is unavailable.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand you are experiencing downtime with your PostgreSQL database, due to a scheduled maintenance window.

If the PostgreSQL database is unavailable during a scheduled maintenance window, this behavior might be expected depending on the nature of the maintenance being performed.

Scheduled Maintenance Impact: During certain maintenance activities - such as underlying OS updates, patching, or failovers, the PostgreSQL server might become temporarily unavailable. These interruptions are typically brief, but they can result in short periods of downtime.

If the server appears to be stuck in a "Restarting" or "Pending" state, please initiate a manual restart of the PostgreSQL engine to restore functionality. Microsoft Learn || steps-to-restart-postgresql-engine

Additionally, you can check and set up the following (if not in place). These will help you be well equipped with additional information in case the issue re-appears.

You can use Azure Service Health to view notifications about upcoming and performed scheduled maintenance on your Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server instance.

You can also set up alerts in Azure Service Health to get notifications about maintenance events

I had defined a window maintenance, however doing a maintenance from Microsoft side, my DB was doing for a production environment.

The resource was completely lock down, I cannot restart, stop and so.

We lost 2h of our system downs, we will have as well Developer support, and I wasn't able to open a ticket neither.

This is not assumable for us.
