I am unable to deploy Custom Vision because my subscription policy only allows five regions (austriaeast, koreacentral, uaenorth, malaysiawest, eastasia), but the service is not available in any of them, so I need policy adjustment or exemption to use a s

Hello Azure Support,

I am trying to deploy a Custom Vision (Microsoft.CognitiveServices/accounts) resource.

My subscription has a policy that only allows deployments in the following regions:

  • austriaeast
  • koreacentral
  • uaenorth
  • malaysiawest
  • eastasia

However, the Custom Vision service is not available in any of these allowed regions.

Because of this policy restriction, I cannot create a Custom Vision resource in my subscription.

Could you please:

  1. Confirm the supported regions for Custom Vision.
  2. Help update the policy (or provide an exemption) so that I can deploy Custom Vision in a supported region such as westeurope or uksouth.

This is currently blocking my project.

    Visit the official Azure Products by Region table, which shows which Azure services, including Custom Vision, are supported in each region. Filter the Product by "Azure AI Foundry" and the Product SKU "Azure AI Custom Vision" should show its availability across geography.

    Azure AI Custom Vision is GA (Generally Available) in Australia East.

    To exempt one of the regions.

    Your subscription administrator or policy owner can update the Azure Policy:

    Add at least one supported region (e.g., westeurope, uksouth) to the allowed locations.

    • Alternatively, set up a policy exemption for deploying Custom Vision resources to one of those regions.
