I have been using my Outlook To-Do list regularly for years. Suddenly, all of my tasks have disappeared. My To-Do list is now blank.

I have important information listed that I need to keep track of. How can I retrieve my To-Do list and tasks?

Hello Sheila. If you find that your Outlook To-Do List is empty, the usual culprit is a sync issue or accidental deletion. Fortunately, your tasks should be stored in Microsoft Exchange Online so it is likely that your tasks can still be recovered even if they do not appear in the To-Do app.

To recover your tasks, open the Outlook desktop application and click Ctrl + 6 to use the Folder List view. Now, click the arrow to expand your Deleted Items folder. Scroll through the deleted items for folders or deleted tasks. If you find the task folder, right-click it and select Move Folder, then select your Tasks folder to recover your To-Do List. If your work in Outlook Web, you may be able to use the Recover Deleted Items option from the Deleted Items section.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Hi Sheila,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand how important your To-Do list is, and I’ll help you troubleshoot this issue. Please check all Other Lists (e.g., Flagged Email, Assigned to Me) and the Deleted Items folder in email folder list. If tasks were accidentally deleted, you can restore them. You can also use Recover Deleted Items from the Deleted Items folder. If the issue still persists, you'll need to clear browsing data for "all time". Check every box except "password" and "autofill forms". Then exit out of your internet browser entirely and re-open.

If the issue persists or you want to provide more information, please let me know. I’ll be happy to guide you further if needed.
