I need to re-install the copy of Microsoft Office I PURCHASED

After purchasing and installing Microsoft Office LIFETIME for 1 pc I cancelled my subscription to Office 365. THEN I was unable to edit my Word documents because I was told my subscription to Office 365 had been cancelled. I sought help and was advised to uninstall Office and reinstall it. Uninstall was with the Microsoft tool. When I tried to reinstall it using the product key which I HAVE PURCHASED I was informed that it had expired. Close reading of the tiny print on the piece of cardboard I received with the product key suggests that the product key can only be used once. I need to be given a new key or else to have the existing key reactivated. I do NOT WANT to have to buy another copy of Office. And I most certainly DONT WANT to find myself in this position again if I do. I need to be able to restore my purchased software.

    Hi @Rod Shelton

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

The production key is only redeemed once, after you activated, the product key is already linked with your Microsoft account (the one activated it)

Visit Setup Office - Office 365 Redemption> Choose Already entered product key.

Click Install Office to begin reinstallation.

You shouldn't use your product key again for activation, use your account to login instead.

You can find more details at Where to enter your Office product key - Microsoft Support

    I hope this information helps.

To reinstall Office, use your associated account at https://account.microsoft.com/services.

Both perpetual licenses (such as Office Home 2024) and subscriptions (such as Microsoft 365 Personal) are associated with a Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services . More than one product may be associated with the same account.

On the other hand, if you have multiple accounts, you may have to start a private (or incognito) browser window to ensure that you are able to sign in with the correct one. To do that, in your browser, press Ctrl+Shift+N (Windows) or Command+Shift+N (Mac).
