Hello @Shruti Chandra
Welcome to Q&A forum!
We understand that this feature can be disruptive to your workflow. Currently, Microsoft Teams is designed to automatically open meetings in a separate window to support multitasking. When you switch away from the meeting screen, a small pop-out window appears to keep the meeting visible.
At this time, there is no built-in setting to disable this feature. However, you may try adjusting the meeting view settings during a call to reduce distractions. For example, selecting “Show only active speaker” or manually minimizing the meeting window.
We truly value your feedback. If this behavior is affecting your experience, we highly encourage you to submit feedback directly to Microsoft via the Teams app (Feedback > Suggest a feature). The more users who share similar concerns, the higher the chance this feature will be reconsidered in future updates.
If you have time, I’d appreciate it if you could click “Accept Answer” if the response helped clarify the issue. Doing so will help pin the answer to the top, making it easier for others with the same concern to find it. This not only helps the community, but also increases visibility, making it more likely that Microsoft will take note and prioritize improvements in future updates.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
Best regards,
