Can't 'Exit Classic Experience' in microsoft list

I have a list in microsoft list that has approx 15 columns and 900+ rows. When I go into SOME, not ALL, of the entries, the editor is in a 'classic view' whereas the majority shows in an easy, nicer looking 'new' look.

I really need all of the List to open up in the 'new' view, as the old version does not act the same and is affecting the consistency of the formatting of the data etc.

PLEASE tell me there is a way to resolve this?

Because if not, I feel like 6 months of work will be in vain as my team find it too inconvenient.

See below examples.

    Hi @Lewis Kirkwood

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand the issue you're facing, and here are a few steps you can try:

    1.Confirm the List Experience Setting

    • Navigate to your list in SharePoint (where Microsoft Lists is hosted).
    • Click Settings (gear icon) → List settings.

    • Under Advanced settings, locate List experience:
      • Ensure New experience is selected.
      • Click OK to save.

When set to “Default,” SharePoint may auto-switch to Classic if it detects legacy customizations. Locking it to “New” prevents that.

    2.Remove or Replace Legacy/Customized Forms

Classic view often appears when a list uses:

    • InfoPath forms
    • Customized SharePoint Designer forms
    • Custom Power Apps forms not fully configured for modern rendering

Steps to revert to the default modern form:

    • In your list, click Integrate → Power Apps → Customize forms.

    • In the Power Apps editor, verify that all fields and controls are compatible with modern rendering (no hidden legacy controls).
    • Save and Publish to SharePoint.
    • Back in your list, click Integrate → Power Apps → See all customized forms and delete any outdated form versions that target classic.

If you originally used InfoPath or Designer, first reset to default under List settings → Form settings.

    Additional tips:

    • Try accessing the list from a different browser or incognito mode to rule out caching or extension issues.
    • Ask your SharePoint admin to verify if the list or site is forced into New mode via site settings or tenant-level configuration.

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

If you have any updates or if the above solutions don’t work for your case, please let me know in the comments section of this post. I’ll be happy to continue assisting you.
