Hotmail account locked after hack – recovery form rejected, no response

I’m writing on behalf of my daughter, whose Hotmail account kristinefroseth9[at]hotmail[dot]com was recently locked after being compromised. The account was accessed using a password likely exposed in a data leak. She was able to regain access temporarily, change the password, and enable 2FA. She also added my Gmail address (which I’m posting from) as the alternate email.

A few days later, the account was locked due to suspicious activity. Since then, she has not been able to verify her identity, as the password, phone, and recovery email are no longer accepted.

She has submitted the recovery form multiple times with:

Former passwords

Frequently contacted email addresses

Subject lines of sent emails

The account has been accessed this year from the U.S., Denmark, and most recently Czech Republic (shortly after the breach).

She has not received any response from Microsoft after submitting the forms.

We are asking that this case be escalated to human review. We can provide additional verification if needed.

Thank you.

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Based on your description, kindly follow the guide to unblock your daughter's account through this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/account-has-been-locked-805e8b0d-4141-29b2-7b65-df6ff6c9ce27

If the issue persists, I highly recommend having her submit a reinstatement form as a last resort:

    https://www.microsoft.com/concern/AccountReinstatement?SilentAuth=1&wa=wsignin1.0

(This is not an account recovery webform/ACSR)

You may receive the results via email within 48 - 72 hours.

If she hasn't received a response to the reinstatement request she submitted after 72 hours, please check her email inbox, junk, and spam folders in case she received it there.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl
