How to move an event I am invited to to a different calendar

If I am invited to a meeting, can I move it to a different calendar?

I use my email address associated with my school for my personal/school calendar, which I keep on my original outlook calendar, and I have a secondary calendar for my school job that needs to have any and all meetings I am invited to by people at my school job. This school job that I am invited to needs to be able to see all relevant meetings, so I have shared this secondary calendar with the appropriate people.

When people from my school job invite me to meetings, it automatically puts them in my original outlook calendar. How do I move them to my job specific calendar so that everyone ive shared that calendar with can see it?

    Hello,

Happy to help with your query,

Unfortunately there is no option to drag & drop between calendars or move events that you aren’t the host for in Outlook new and web.

However there is a method using Classic Outlook, you will need to revert to the Classic Outlook App.

    User's image

Click the toggle next to the “New Outlook” text to revert to Classic.

Afterwards go to your calendar which will be on the left side of your screen but with different Classic icons. After opening calendar click “View” then “Change View” then “List”, this will show your calendar events as a list instead of a calendar, you can filter them down to your school job invites by using the “Arrange By” function on the top bar, then highlight all of them by either clicking them individually or pressing CTRL+A if you have them filtered down, now right click and select “Move” under move select the option “Other Folder” , this will open a new window where your email files are broken down to into folders, find “Calendar” and then within calendar highlight your school job calendar then click “OK”. This will move the selected events from your personal calendar to your school job calendar, this will happen instantly on Classic Outlook but for Web and New give it a few minutes to catch up to classic.

Your meetings should be moved from your personal calendar to the school job calendar now.

    Hope this helps,

    Juan

    Hi Alexandra,

Thank you for your question! This is a common scenario when managing multiple calendars in Outlook. You can create a copy of the event in your secondary calendar:

    1. Open the meeting in your default calendar.
    2. Select More actionsDuplicate event (or Copy to calendar in some versions).
    3. Choose your secondary calendar and save.

This copy will not update automatically if the organizer changes the meeting, so you’ll need to repeat this if updates occur. Or you can Download and use the Classic Outlook desktop app for full feature support, including easier drag-and-drop and advanced calendar management: Install or reinstall classic Outlook on a Windows PC

If the issue persists, please let me know.
