Greetings:

I understand that to move my Office 365 to a new computer, I need to remove it from the existing device to the new device. I do not see how I can do this. Attached are 3 images:

  • My account home page
  • My subscription listing
  • My devices listing

I hope you can send me a step-by-step instruction on how to do this.

Thank you.

You can legally install Microsoft 365 on an unlimited number of devices.

The only limitation is that you can be logged in to your Microsoft 365 account on at most five devices at the same time. Since your screenshots show that you currently use two devices, you should have no problem installing Microsoft 365 on your new computer and logging in on it.

    Hello Baha Habashy,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Thanks for your question and for sharing the screenshots. Based on the information you've provided, your subscription is Microsoft 365 Personal, which is intended for individual use and allows installation on multiple devices. That means you do not need to “move” Office from one computer to another in order to use it. You can simply install Office on your new computer and sign in with your Microsoft account to activate it.

To install and activate Office on your new computer:

    1. Go to https://www.office.com on your new computer.
    2. Sign in using the Microsoft account associated with your subscription.
    3. Click Install Office and follow the instructions to download and install.
    4. Once installed, open any Office app (like Word or Excel) and sign in to activate.

However, if you prefer to remove Office from your old device before setting it up on the new one, here’s a step-by-step guide:

To remove Office from your old computer:

    1. Open the Control Panel.
    2. Click on Programs (or Programs and Features, depending on your view).
    3. Find Microsoft 365 or Office in the list of installed programs.
    4. Right click on it, then click Uninstall.
    5. Follow the prompts to complete the removal.

To sign out of Office on the old computer:

    1. Open any Office app (e.g., Word).
    2. Go to File > Account.
    3. Click Sign Out under your account name.

To remove the old device from your Microsoft account:

    1. Visit https://account.microsoft.com/devices.
    2. Locate the device you want to remove (e.g., HP ZBook or BH-NUC-2 as shown in your screenshot).
    3. Click Remove next to the device name.

All of these are optional, but you can do them all to completely remove Office from your old computer.

I hope this helps - please let me know if you need help with any of these steps or run into issues during setup.

    Have a nice day,

    Thomas

    Thank you, Tomas.

Thank you for your note. I will be glad to follow your direction.  But before I do this, please help me make sure I do this legally.

I got the Office 365 license as a volunteer with a not-for-profit organization called Caregivers Community. I have another Microsoft account [****]@caregiverscommunity.onmicrosoft.com]. Attached is an image of the account profile. This profile shows the old pc that uses the office 365 but I do not see any licenses associated with it.
