Does MS have any idea how arrogant they are to install Copilot on iOS with no means to turn it off?

MS has installed Copilot on my365 on my iPad. I have absolutely no use for Copilot, I don't need or want, it is noting but junk to me, it interferes so much with everything I do, that I can no longer use 365 on my iPad.

Just to make this clear: 365 subscription is something I pay for, but MS has made it NOT WORK anymore. I want a refund.

This is not a question, it is a complaint.

    Dear thomas eanes

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience you've experienced with Copilot on your iPad. I understand how frustrating it must be to have a feature interfere with your workflow—especially in a product you pay for and rely on.

As of now, Microsoft does not offer a built-in toggle to disable Copilot in the mobile versions of Word, Excel, Outlook, or other Microsoft 365 apps on iOS or iPadOS.

While you can't disable Copilot directly on iOS yet, here are a few steps that you can kindly take:

    1. Switch to a Copilot-Free Subscription:
      • Visit Microsoft Account Subscription
      • Sign in and find your current Microsoft 365 plan > Click Manage > Cancel Subscription.
      • Choose Microsoft 365 Personal Classic or Microsoft 365 Family Classic.
      • Follow the instructions to complete the switch.
    2. Provide Feedback to Microsoft:
      • Use the "Send Feedback" option in the app to report your experience or follow the steps via this link.
    3. Use Web Versions:
      • If Copilot is interfering too much, consider using the web versions of Word, Excel, or Outlook via Safari or another browser on your iPad. These may offer a more stable experience without Copilot overlays.

    Your Complaint and Refund Request:

Since you’ve stated that Copilot has rendered your paid subscription unusable, you are within your rights to request a refund. Here's how to proceed:

    • Visit Microsoft Services Page
    • Locate your Microsoft 365 subscription and click “Manage”.
    • Select “Cancel” or “Request a Refund” and follow the prompts.
    • Alternatively, please contact Microsoft | Contact us directly and explain your situation.

I hope it helps, please feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Thank you for your time.

Maybe installing the individual apps, Word, Excel etc., would make Copilot less intrusive than using the "365 Copilot" app? It might be worth testing.

Alternatively, switch to a 365 classic subscription, as Ian has already suggested. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/switching-to-microsoft-365-personal-and-family-classic-plans-58342e83-38e7-4cda-b63b-88604a8fb7ef.
