Hello Meghann. Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) works on Windows 10 Home 64-bit, but the right version depends on your hardware chipset and processor generation. If you previously removed RST due to issues with getting it to work, it’s maybe because the version you were using didn’t match your hardware configuration. This situation would generally be the case when the AHCI (instead of RAID) mode was set in the BIOS. To determine your correct version, you must first identify your motherboard model and accompanying chipset.
To find this information, you can run msinfo32 from Windows + R. After you have that information, go to the Intel official Download Centre. Use the automatic driver detection tool, which will recommend the correct RST version for your hardware. For example, if you have a 10th Generation Intel CPU, you will typically require RST version 18.x or later. And if your platform is older, you will typically require RST version 15.x until 17.x.
If your hardware is branded with OEM Intel certified brand like Dell or HP; then you are better off downloading the RST driver directly from the manufacturer’s support site. You can be sure it will work with your hardware.
Best regards,
