My admin role is gone! I am afraid our team got hacked!

Long story short: our team has two admins—myself and a friend. However, my friend left the company three years ago. We kept his account active out of respect (as a founding member) and because we’re still using his OneDrive for storage.

Today, I noticed the Admin panel icon disappeared from my PC. On my Mac, the icon is still visible, but all pages load blank. I can still see the payment method, which confirms it’s charged to my credit card.

At this point, I’m not sure what to do and urgently need help!

    Hi @Thinh Nguyen

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Regarding that you don't see the admin panel icon on your computer . I’d like to ask a few quick questions to better understand your situation and assist you more effectively:

1.Do you still have access to your admin account?

2.You mentioned having two admin accounts.  Are both accounts affected, or is one still functioning normally?

3.When you access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, do you see any unusual behavior or error messages?  If so, could you describe them or share a screenshot (please make sure to hide any sensitive information)?

4.Have there been any recent changes to your organization’s security settings or user roles?  For example, did someone else recently gain admin access?

5.Have you checked the audit logs or security reports in Microsoft 365 to see if there are any suspicious activities?

You could refer to this article :Search the audit log | Microsoft Learn

I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience you've encountered. While my initial response may not resolve the issue immediately, I’d like to gather more details about your situation so I can assist you more effectively.

I really appreciate your patience, and I’m here to help. Looking forward to your response!
