Forwarding and IMAP settings doesn't save

I know many people have this problem as well when trying to enable IMAP in the Outlook Web settings.

I've tried many differents browsers, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera in all ways I could (fresh install, incognito/private mode, different devices/operating systems, extensions/addons disabled). Nothing works, the problem still persist, Save button doesn't disappear as expected when a setting is saved.

Now don't tell me my account is new and needs time to be fully provisioned. Nah, I tried with both new and old accounts (few months to few years old).

So, any solutions, please?

    Hi,

Nice to meet you! My name is Randy and I'm an independent advisor.

Hi David, If Outlook Web won’t save IMAP or forwarding settings, first check if your account is a work/school one since admins can block these options, while personal Outlook.com accounts should allow them, if that’s not the issue, try enabling IMAP or forwarding through the Outlook desktop or mobile app instead of the web.

    Best regards,

    Hi David,

Upon double checking on this, In the Outlook desktop app, you can check IMAP settings by going to File > Account Settings > Account Settings > Change > More Settings > Advanced, while the mobile app doesn’t let you toggle IMAP directly, it just uses what’s already enabled on the server; forwarding rules usually need to be set up in Outlook Web.

    Kind regards,
