I can't log into my xbox app or my Microsoft store (kinda)

When I say kinda, I mean that for microsoft store, as after I reseted it, it automatically logged me back in without me having to go through some process.

The xbox app however is the biggest problem.
Whenever I click log in there are 2 options, my xbox account or I sign in with a new microsoft account. Neither of these will end up working. If I try logging in with a new microsoft account it'll be stuck on, "Just a moment..." no matter how long I wait it'll be stuck like that. If I try the other option however in logging in normally my gaming services will show a single dot before freezing up. This also won't work no matter how long I wait.

I've tried reinstalling my gaming services, checking for any new windows updates, used the gaming services repair tool and it says that everything is fine, I've uninstalled the xbox app and reinstalled it, and more. No matter what kind of troubleshooting like reseting my cache or doing the whole flushdns thing it just won't work.

And even before this I logged out for a specific reason, I couldn't launch or download any games so I go to the error code and none of the things there worked either so I just figured, "Hey let me just log and log in again and maybe it'll fix it." Turns out now I can't even get back in.

And a little before that my game bar wouldn't open I tried trouble shooting that as well but I just ended up using the regular audio mixer on windows.

Please send any possible suggestion for I am willing to try almost anything.

    Dear Waterbeast,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A.

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially since you've already gone through so many of the standard troubleshooting steps.

    1. Reinstalling gaming services using PowerShell:
      • Press Windows + X, select Terminal (Admin)
      • Run this command:
             get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

      • Continue to run this command to clear the Windows Store cache:
             wsreset.exe

      • Restart your computer
      • After restarting, open the Xbox app. It should detect that Gaming Services is missing and prompt you to install it. If it doesn't, you can start the install manually by typing the following command into the same PowerShell (Admin) window:
             start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

      • This will open the Microsoft Store page for Gaming Services. Click Install.
      • Once installed, try logging into the Xbox app again.
    2. Create a new local user account:
      • Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.
      • Under "Other users," click "Add account".
      • Select "I don't have this person's sign-in information" and then "Add a user without a Microsoft account".
      • Create a temporary local user (e.g., username "Test" and a simple password).
      • Log out of your current account and log into the new "Test" account.
      • Open the Microsoft Store and Xbox app. You will need to sign in with your Microsoft account here.
      • See if everything works correctly in this new profile.

If nothing works, you can also try to fix the issue by performing an In-place Upgrade. Please read this Reinstall Windows with the installation media - Microsoft SupportUser's image

Disclaimer: Let's try performing an in-place install or in-place upgrade which will refresh your Windows files and operating system without removing files or applications. That being said, we always recommend that if you have important data, you should back up it up before making large system changes. If you want to back up your data first, please do so. Once you are done backing up, you can follow the steps in the following guides: How to run In-place upgrade in Windows 11 - Microsoft Q&A

    Hi!

Thank you for the information. I need to clarify the part that you log in again, when you attempted to log back in, are there any error that appeared specific to wrong password? just need to ensure that password is correct for your email so we can proceed with other troubleshooting.
