Is it USB. If so see if you can select to safely eject the drive. Unplug the USB then plug it back in again.
I have install WD Discovery to enable me to utilize WD Passport as my external HD a few years ago, suddenly I found my access has been denied.

Right click your Start button and open Disk Management.
Expand the bottom pane so all drives are visible in that pane, please provide a screenshot of that window.

In the meantime, if you connect that drive to another PC, are you able to access the drive on that PC?
