Hi @Sherline,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum and sharing the details of your issue.
I’d be glad to assist you with locating the Teams icon in the updated version of Microsoft Teams.
To assist you better, could you please share a bit more about the icon you’re referring to? For example:
- To make sure we’re addressing the right feature, could you let me know what you mean by “Teams icon”? For example, are you trying to access your Teams and Channels, chat conversations, or something else?
Also, it would be helpful to know:
- Are you using the desktop app, web browser, or a mobile device?
- Have you recently updated or reinstalled Teams?
These details will help me tailor the guidance to your setup.
Moreover, with the latest update, the layout has been refreshed and some icons have been renamed or repositioned. What was previously labeled as “Teams” may now appear differently depending on your setup.
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- On the left-hand sidebar, look for a speech bubble icon with three horizontal lines inside it.
- This icon is now labeled “Chat” in blue text.
- It is usually positioned second from the top in the vertical menu.
- Click on “Chat” to access your conversations, channels, and team messages.
This section now serves as the central hub for team interactions.
In the meantime, display issues can be caused by cached data. Clearing the cache can help refresh the interface.
For Windows:
- Close Microsoft Teams completely.
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type
%userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams
and press Enter. - Delete all files and folders in this directory.
- Restart Teams.
For macOS:
- Quit Microsoft Teams.
- Open Finder and press Command + Shift + G.
- Enter
rm -rf ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams
rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2
- Delete all files and folders in this location.
- Restart Teams.
After clearing the cache, Teams will reload fresh data and the updated layout should appear correctly.
Please understand that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
