I wish I had never moved up to Win 11 now. I want to uninstall & remove 365, One Drive & Co pilot. I have no use for those programs, all they do is confuse the at home user. No matter what I save, it's going to one drive also?? No, I don't want this at all. Your next update that is provided needs to be a way that we can get rid of those programs. Meanwhile if anyone has any ideas, by all means... let us know.

    Hello Linda R

    Welcome To Microsoft Q&A Forum.

You asked how to uninstall Microsoft 365, OneDrive, and Copilot on Windows 11.

Here are some steps that you can kindly follow:

    1. Uninstall Microsoft 365 Microsoft 365 can be removed using the Settings app or Control Panel: Method A: Settings App
      • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
      • Navigate to Apps → Installed Apps.
      • Scroll down or search for Microsoft 365.
      • Click the three dots (…) next to it and select Uninstall.
      • Follow the on-screen prompts and restart your PC
Method B: Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SARA)
    2. Remove OneDrive:
      • Press Windows + IApps → Installed Apps.
      • Find Microsoft OneDrive, click the three dots, and select Uninstall.
      • Confirm and restart your PC.
      • Tip: If you only want to stop syncing without uninstalling, open OneDrive settings → AccountUnlink this.
    3. Disable or Remove Copilot:
    • Option A: Settings
      • Go to Settings → Personalization → Taskbar and toggle Copilot off
      • Option B: Registry Editor (Advanced)
        • Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
        • Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
        • Create a new key named WindowsCopilot.
        • Inside it, create a DWORD (32-bit) value named TurnOffWindowsCopilot and set it to 1.
        • Restart your PC.

    NOTE:

    • Updates may reinstall Copilot or OneDrive. To prevent this, you may need to disable them via Group Policy or registry tweaks.
    • If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription, cancel or switch plans at account.microsoft.com/services to avoid charges.

Thank you for your time, please feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.

If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription, you can convert it to the classic version without Copilot. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/switching-to-microsoft-365-personal-and-family-classic-plans-58342e83-38e7-4cda-b63b-88604a8fb7ef .

If you do not have a subscription, you can uninstall any preinstalled trial versions and/or mobile apps which are currently on your PC.

Another option is to run a perpetual (one-time purchase) license of Office, such as Office Home 2024. It is for one user and one computer (the license is not for mobile devices). Outlook classic is not included.

To prevent your PC from synchronizing files with OneDrive, unlink it. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/turn-off-disable-or-uninstall-onedrive-f32a17ce-3336-40fe-9c38-6efb09f944b0 . The screen shot below is from the article.

    Hi Linda R

    Thanks for following up

I completely understand how this can get confusing with multiple devices and email accounts. Let me try to clear things up:

    1. One Microsoft Account works across all devices
      • Ideally, you only need one Microsoft account (an email that ends in Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com, or even your personal domain).
      • That one account can be signed in on your desktop, laptop, iPad, and phone. This keeps things simple and avoids conflicts.
    2. Why your email says “already in use”
      • This usually happens when that email address is already tied to another Microsoft account.
      • To check, go to https://account.microsoft.com and sign in with each of your addresses — see which one has your services (Office 365, OneDrive, etc.). That will help you identify your “main” account.
    3. Primary vs. secondary accounts
      • You can still add your other two email addresses (like Gmail, Yahoo, or another Outlook account) as additional accounts on your devices.
      • But it helps to pick one Microsoft account as your “primary” — that’s the one to use for Windows sign-in, Office, and the Microsoft Store.

    Next steps I’d recommend:

    • Decide which of your 3 addresses you want to keep as your main Microsoft account.
    • Sign in with that one on all four devices.
    • Add your other addresses just for sending/receiving email, not for Microsoft account sign-in.

If you’d like, I can walk you through the steps of checking which account has your subscription and adding your preferred email back to your phone. Just let me know which device (Android or iPhone) and I can provide the exact steps.
