    Dear @kok wee

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand that you've accidentally activated a Microsoft Office license using your personal email and need to transfer it to your customer.

Unfortunately, once a perpetual Office license (such as Office Home & Student, Home & Business, or Professional) is associated with a Microsoft account, it cannot be directly transferred to another Microsoft account. The license is permanently bound to the account that was used for the initial activation. User's image

For detailed steps, refer to Microsoft’s official documentation: Transfer a Microsoft 365 subscription to another account - Microsoft Support

However, here is the official guidance and the best course of action:

Since the license is tied to your account, the most straightforward approach to ensure your customer has proper ownership and access is to:

    1. Request a Refund: If the purchase was recent, you may be eligible for a refund. You can check your eligibility and request a refund through the Microsoft account you used for the purchase.
    2. Purchase a New License for the Customer: A new Office license should be purchased using the customer's own Microsoft account. This ensures that they are the sole owner of the license and can manage it independently.

The binding of a license to a single Microsoft account is a security measure to prevent unauthorized redistribution of the software. This policy is outlined in the Microsoft Services Agreement.

For more details on managing Office licenses, please refer to the official Microsoft support page: Transfer your Office license to another device or another person

I understand this may not be the answer you were hoping for, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Following the steps above is the best way to resolve the situation correctly.

This Product are provided by my Vendor. So requesting a refund is not that straight forward.

Please advise me other work arounds to transfer the license to my client instead.

    Dear @kok wee

Thank you for your reply. We understand you are trying to transfer an Office license activated under your personal email to your customer’s account. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this.

Based on your description, here is guidance to address your situation:

    1. License Transferability: Most Office licenses purchased through vendors or retail channels are intended for use by a single user and cannot be officially transferred to another person or Microsoft account after activation. This is a standard licensing term.
    2. Recommended Solution: The most reliable way to resolve this is to work directly with your vendor. Explain that the product was activated on the wrong account accidentally. They are often best positioned to assist with license reassignment or may provide a new product key under their policies, as refunds or direct transfers are not typically handled by Microsoft for vendor-provided products.
    3. Official Microsoft Guidance: For clarity on license reassignment, please review this official document: Transfer your Office license to another device or another person. This article explains the specific scenarios where transfer is possible (e.g., for Microsoft 365 subscriptions via admin reassignment). User's image
