Moving Taskbar

Why do I want to waste real estate with the taskbar taking all of the bottom of my widescreen monitor. I should be able to move it to the sides where it is more compact. This is such a disappointment with Windows 11

    At this time, Windows 11 supports taskbar placement only at the bottom of the screen. We recognize that this limitation may impact workflows for users who previously relied on side positioning in earlier versions of Windows.
